If "low and slow" barbecue is what you seek then look no further. Follow the sweet smell of burning hardwood to The Big Smoke Barbecue, a restaurant dedicated to the art of slow smoked Southern barbecue and Southern food done the right way.
We use the highest quality local product and we make everything from scratch; and when we say everything we mean it. Our rubs, our sauces, breads, buns, and desserts; hell we even make our own bacon!
The Big Smoke Barbecue team is proud to be Canadian and are members of the Slow Food Association. By building and maintaining strong connections with local farmers and suppliers we help support them while providing you with a fresh and trusted product, that benefits our community.
All of our meats and produce are from local producers and are of the highest quality. Our Southern Pride smoker is ranked as one of the best smokers on the market, and is fueled by hickory and cherry logs to produce a great product everytime.
We want to provide all our guests with the knowledge of REAL barbecue. It is not to be confused with grilling, which is seared on a high heat grill with fast cooking times. Instead we take a hint from our Southern neighbors and create barbecue in its true art form. Tough cuts of meat that contain the most flavour are seasoned and smoked for long periods of time, sometimes exceeding 16 hours. The result is moist, tender, melt in your mouth cut of meat with a unique smokey flavour and covered with your choice of our house signature sauces.

We vowed not to skip steps or cut corners and do things the authentic way. We ordered our Southern Pride smoker from Tennessee, our hickory and fruitwoods come from the US and we worked for months to create the best dry rubs and sauces.

Crisp tomatoes with creole remoulade and herb oil.
Our huge pulled pork sandwich on our house made bun, served with carolina gold sauce and coleslaw.
Half rack of beef and baby back ribs.
Potato salad, mac n' cheese, collard greens, coleslaw, nanny's beans, and sweet potato mash. All made from scratch in house.
Half rack of ribs and 1/4 chicken.
Fresh made apple pie served hot with vanilla ice cream.
Everything we make is from scratch, and we mean it! We make our own bread, desserts, trimmings, rubs and sauces, heck we even make our own bacon. Low and slow means early mornings and late nights but at the end of the day our customer gets authentic low and slow southern barbecue, and to us, thats all that matters.

If I had a dollar for every time I went into a BBQ restaurant and left disapointed, I would be rich.
I just want to thank you for taking the time to do it right. Ribs, pulled pork, brisket and mac and cheese. I tried it all and loved every bite. See you really soon.
